More than a Name: Professor Fritz Pointer on Hoops, History and Family Fame
New episode is up, and this one will get you excited. So excited. We are joined by the very great Fritz Pointer - college hoops star at Creighton (where he played alongside his cousin, NBA Hall of Famer Paul Silas), long-tenured professor, author of six books, Novato resident, and the brother of the famed Pointer Sisters. Fritz has an incredible life story, and he was kind enough to share his perspective on growing up in Oakland in the 40s and 50s, playing hoops at McClymonds HS (69-0 record) and Creighton, being a part of a very famous family with sisters who changed the landscape of pop and r&b music, and being a writer and professor. Can’t thank him enough for his time. Thanks to our sponsors - The Hub, West End Nursery, North Bay Basketball Academy (NBBA) Batiste Rhum, and Nike Camps at San Domenico.
